British suspense thriller following a young woman who is lured back to her home town having left years before in search of her missing mother. Rachael (Laura Fraser) is tricked into returning home by her ex-boyfriend, Rafe (Callum Blue), who tells her that her father is dying. While there, however, she grows closer to discovering what happened to her mother but, ultimately, the truth will lead her to danger.

Tom Bell stars as a discontented young husband who begins an affair with a 15-year-old girl in this drama written and directed by Gerry O'Hara, based on his own novel. Bored with his job and marriage to wife Joy (Judy Carne), electrician Len Lewin (Bell) starts up an affair with teenage actress Val (Olivia Hussey). Swept up in the initial rush of excitement, the pair are quickly forced to re-evaluate their situation when Val discovers that she is pregnant.

The true story of Derek Bentley (Christopher Eccleston), hanged, aged 19, in the 1950s after a controversial decision holding him responsible for the murder of a police officer. Despite a history of mental illness, and with the court accepting that he did not actually pull the trigger, Bentley was still sentenced to death - on the basis that his ambiguous cry of 'let him have it!' caused his young accomplice to fire the fatal shot. The release of this film focused attention on the case once more, and Bentley eventually received a posthumous pardon.

This illustrated history describes how the two pioneering railways of northern England, the Stockton and Darlington and Newcastle and Carlisle railways, developed from unsuccessful canal proposals and how they, with the ill-fated Stanhope and Tyne Railway, initiated the development of the railway system that served the North Pennine Orefield. It reveals the public and private railways, as well as proposed lines, and the recovery and extensions of the Stockton and Darlington Railway until the North Eastern Railway took over in the early 1860s. Dr Tom Bell's impressive research also explores the subsequent slow but continuous decline as the minerals became exhausted, to the situation today when all that is left are three different tourist lines, one of which is trying to revive the mineral traffic.
